As a therapeutic resource for your family, I am here to help you and your child feel seen, heard and supported through the ups and the downs. Whether you are coming to therapy for a child needing help regulating big emotions, a teen feeling anxious or depressed, or you – a caregiver – looking to build new skills to help navigate your relationship with your child, I offer a compassionate and welcoming space for exploration and growth.

Every client deserves to have someone who is committed to their success, which is why my approach is tailored to each client’s unique strengths and goals. My therapeutic style draws from Play Therapy techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Expressive Art Therapy. I have experience working with young children, tweens, teens, and families in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, elementary schools, and community agencies. I believe that the family’s home environment and communication play a significant role in a child’s mental health. As a result, I work with caregivers to define and create spaces and communication styles where the client and their families can thrive. Together, I strive to empower and equip your child and family with tools and techniques for developing self-compassion, connectedness and resilience.

I received my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in child and family therapy from the University of Houston (CSWE Accredited Program) as well as a Bachelors in Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. I also hold a certification in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International and have a passion for supporting caregivers struggling with stress, work/life balance, child-caregiver connection, and partner or co-parenting relationships.

Previous to becoming a full-time therapist, I worked as a communications professional consulting with business leaders on news media and public relations initiatives. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new parks with my two daughters, swimming, cooking for loved ones and dreaming up my family’s next summer vacation.

ROYAL IS PARTICULARLY WELL-SUITED TO SUPPORT FAMILIES:

  • with children seeking help with emotional regulation skills, building greater self-acceptance and self-worth, anxiety reduction, mother-daughter relationships and boundary setting.
