Parenting Stress Index (PSI)

Measures the extent of stress in the caregiver-child relationship and can help identify contributing factors to dysfunctions in caregiving or problematic child behaviors.

Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) + Youth Self Report (YSR) + Teacher Report Form

Measures emotional and behavioral problems. These three assessments gather the same information from three different sources to get an accurate picture. Caregivers complete the Child Behavior Checklist, 11-18 year olds complete the Youth Self Report, and then teachers complete the Teacher Report Form.

Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC)

A norm-referenced diagnostic tool designed to assess the behavior and self‐perceptions of children and young adults ages 2 to 25 years. There are 16 primary measurement scales including: Activities of Daily Living, Functional Communication, Adaptability, Hyperactivity, Aggression, Leadership, Anxiety, Learning Problems, Attention Problems, Social Skills, Atypicality, Somatization, Conduct Disorder, Study Skills, Depression, & Withdrawal

Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (BRIEF 2) 

An assessment of executive function behaviors at home and at school for children and adolescents ages 5–18. It identifies different types of behavior related to the nine domains of executive functioning: Inhibit, Self-Monitor, Shift, Emotional Control, Initiate, Working Memory, Plan & Organize, Task Monitor, & Organization of Materials. Attention Deficit Disorder Evaluation Scale Fourth Edition 

Caregiver or teacher assessment that measures inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive type.

Revised Children’s Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS-2) 

Measures the level and nature of anxiety as experienced by children today.

Children’s Depression Inventory (CDI) 

Assesses cognitive, affective, and behavioral signs of depression in children and adolescents.

Educational Assessments

If you would like a more comprehensive assessment, either to gain additional information to guide your child’s treatment plan or to better understand your child’s speech and language, emotional or learning needs, please contact our in-house caregiver education specialist, Kate Curran Mire. 

With her team at Hill Country School Psychologists, Kate goes into your child’s school environment to complete testing and observations where they feel most comfortable. The team works mostly in the private and charter school settings. They also complete independent educational evaluations in most public school districts across Central Texas.
