We know the impact that one-on-one counseling can have, and for some clients and caregivers, the opportunity to share in community allows for an even deeper level of healing and understanding. CHILD-PARENT-RELATIONSHIP TRAINING

Facilitated by Rachel Esparza, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Jaclyn N Sepp, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S®, NCC, RYT®200 and Sheila Wessels, MEd, LPC-S, RPT-S™.

Are you struggling in your role as a parent/caregiver? Or looking for new ways to caregive? Do you find yourself yelling at your child more often than laughing with your child? Do you feel frustrated and find yourself saying the same things over and over, with no results? Do you want to strengthen your relationship with your child and regain a sense of closeness?

Give your children what they need most: YOU!

In 10 weeks, you will learn skills and strategies to help you:

  • Understand your child’s emotional needs

  • Develop your child’s self-control and self-esteem

  • Effectively discipline & limit inappropriate behavior

  • Communicate more effectively with your child

  • Feel more in control as a caregiver

In 10 weeks, caregivers report seeing improvement in:

  • Child’s behavior problems

  • Stress in the caregiver-child relationship

  • Caregiver-child communication

  • Confidence in caregiving skills

WHEN: Tuesdays from 11:30 to 1:00pm, June 4 to August 13, skipping July 16
WHERE: Virtual

AGE GROUP: Caregivers with children aged 3-10 years
INVESTMENT: $100/session, $1000 total for ten sessions

PRO SOCIAL: COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS

Facilitated by Ben Kinsey, LCSW

This group is well suited for tweens/teens in middle school.

In this group, participants will:

  • Develop Social skills among their peers

  • Learn how to set boundaries and increase positive interactions with others

  • Learn how to communicate with empathy and purpose!

WHEN: Wednesday evenings, 7-8pm
WHERE: Ensemble Therapy Northwest Office (4210 Spicewood Springs Rd, Suite 203, Austin TX 78759)

AGE GROUP: 11-14 years, middle school
INVESTMENT: $65/session, ongoing, paid in full on the first of the month

Child-Centered Group Play Therapy for Preschoolers

Facilitated by Ashley Hembrock MS, LPC Associate under the clinical supervision of Sheila Wessels ME.d, LPC-S, RPT-S™

In this group participants will…

  • Development of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills

  • Increase knowledge and expression of feelings, wants, and needs

  • Increase in self-responsibility and improve self-control

  • Increase knowledge and implementation of coping skills

  • Increase knowledge and respect of others’ and self boundaries

    *Treatment goals are focused on each individual 

WHEN: Thursdays at 1:30 - 2:10 pm, 40-minute sessions
ATTENDANCE: This is a closed play therapy group running for 20 weeks. There will be 5 caregiver consultations:

  • Initial caregiver consultation

  • Treatment planning consultation

  • 2 progress consultations

  • Termination/recommendation consultation

WHERE: Our Spicewood Office (4210 Spicewood Springs Rd. Suite 203, Austin, TX 78759)

AGE GROUP: Preschoolers ages 4 and 5
INVESTMENT: $100 per group session / $170 per caregiver consultation

Child-Centered Group Play Therapy

INVESTMENT: $100 per group session / $170 per parent consultation

Kinder Readiness Group

Facilitated by Kim Strickland, OTR, ATP, MS, Mary Hadley, M.A., CCC-SLP, and Ellie Vidaurri, M.S., CCC-SLP

In this group participants will…

  • Learn important executive functioning skills for navigating their new school environments.

  • Practice important fine motor skills needed for the KG classroom.  

  • Learn and practice important social communication skills for building positive connections with others.  

WHEN: Mondays beginning June 3 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM
ATTENDANCE: Small group setting of no more than 6 children will meet once weekly for 4 weeks.  Children will split their time with the OT and SLP to learn various skills and come together at the end in a whole group setting to put learned objectives into practice.

  • Week 1: identifying emotions, pre-writing shapes

  • Week 2: self regulation, imitating motor movements/body awareness

  • Week 3: school rules, scissor skills (and other craft skills such as using glue and crayons) 

  • Week 4: playing with others, taking turns, following directions

WHERE: Our Berkman Office (5802 Berkman Drive, Suite A, Austin, Texas 78723). Rooms used will be the Veloway/Sensory Room and Mt. Bonnell playroom.

AGE GROUP: Children entering KG in the fall
INVESTMENT: $160/session paid in full on the first meeting day
